Summer Story Time is a great way to introduce the Peoria Humane Society's Core Values to a young audience, hopefully instilling these thoughts in their mind as they continue to grow and mature.  Storytime is intended to excite young minds about various animal topics and get them to appreciate the animals on this earth in a whole new way.

Each story encourages young people to show kindness and respect to all living creatures. There is a  different, animal-based theme selected each year on which the books and projects are focused. Past themes have included "Barnyard Fun,"  "Dog Days of Summer,"   and most recently "Small Animals."  At PHS Story Time you never know what fun awaits!  Special visitors have often joined the children as they learn about certain topics. Pigs, goats, and even a beehive have all been present in years past. 

Story Times are free, but space is limited so we encourage pre-registration by calling 309-672-2447. Adults are asked to accompany their children to storytimes.  Watch for upcoming times in the summer of 2023!
