The Peoria Humane Society promotes the humane treatment of animals in several ways.  We are comitted to bringing public awareness to issues of animal cruelty and neglect, proper pet care, and the problems surrounding pet overpopulation.

Over the years, the Peoria Humane Society has implemented several awareness campaigns.  In 2024 we partenered with Adams Outdoor Advertsing to launch our Adopt, Volunteer, Donate campaign!

• You may have seen our billboards around Peoria County.  These billboards focused on our core values of Kindness, Respect, Peace, and Responsibility.
• PHS has become active in social media with a facebook and twitter page go keep our followers up to speed on the latest animal issues and PHS activities in our area.
• We work with area schools to provide humane education to the next generation of animal-lovers.  We have visits from our pet therapy dogs, give presentations on animal related topics, and allow schools to visit the shelter to appreciate the homeless animals in our community.
• We offer a presentation to area organizations on the connection between animal abuse and human violence.
