Kitten Yoga
(Sat. June 8th, 2019 from 8:30am to 9:30am)

Come join our yoga session at Captivation Dance by Kaleigh in Morton on June 8th, 2019! Once again, adoptable kittens will be running around throughout the event. We ask for a $20 donation to attend a class. Children attending the Kiddy Kitten Yoga session will be $10 per child.

 

The yoga classes are taught by a registered instructor and are geared for any skill level. We ask that you bring your own mat and water bottle. If you have any questions, contact Brittany Barnes at bbarnes@peoriahs.org. Spots are limited so reserve yours today:

The HUMANe Race

The HUMANe Race is a 5k run/walk and 1 mile walk to benefit the Peoria Humane Society.  If you are an animal lover of fur, feathers, fins, or scales or you are simply looking for a fun way to be physically active, the HUMANe RACE is for you! The Peoria Humane Society is offering a reading to dogs program to benefit children and dogs. Paws to Read visits local schools and libraries promoting the benefits of reading for children of all ages. Established in 2005, the Paws to Read program helps children develop their literacy skills by reading to specially trained therapy dogs. The children have fun petting a furry friend while improving their reading skills and boosting their self esteem. Pre-registration is not required, but is apprecaited so the correct number of volunteers and their dogs can be present.

Pet First Aid

The American Red Cross and the Humane Society have developed a special course to teach animal lovers how to help their pets in an emergency. Participants will learn handy skills, including how to: Administer CPR and rescue breathing, relieve choking, make a pet First Aid kit, identify and care for common ailments and emergencies.
