Summer Storytime teaches children love and respect for rabbits
Summer Storytime teaches children love and respect for rabbits

The first installment of Summer Story Time featured books and crafts about rabbits.  The kids listened to a story about Smudge the Bunny.  They also created a glitter picture and a hand puppet out of paper cups.  They drew pictures of rabbits on the sidewalk outside the building. There was also a surprise guest....2 mini lop-eared bunnies for the kids to hold and pet!  The Summer Story Time program is designed to get kids excited about animals while teaching them to have respect for all living things.  If kids learn that animals are our friends from a young age, we at PHS hope that love and respect will remain with them all their lives.  Summer story time is free to the public but we do ask parents to register ahead of time so we can have enough supplies for everyone.  If you are interested in story time call Kitty Yanko at 309-672-2447.
